Welcome to Weaverham Forest Primary School
Changes to the start of day
From the start of next term I will be changing how we start the school day, I have decided to trial a different approach for a term and then I will ask for parental feedback to measure whether this will become permanent. The new routine will work on a staggered start; this approach is now commonplace in many schools and I am confident it will improve the start to our school day.
The children will be able to come into school from 8.45am, however registration will take place at the same time (8.55 am), this will allow parents to drop off and then get on with the rest of their day. Key Stage 2 children will enter from the main reception where there will be two members of staff to welcome the children and also take messages from parents to pass onto the class teachers. Key Stage 1 and Reception children will enter from the bottom playground entrance where again there will be two members of staff to welcome the children and take messages for class teachers. Each classroom will have an adult to supervise the children as they start their day.
Our vision is of a community which works together to enable all our children to achieve the best in all they can do. We set great importance on the happiness, well-being and voice of our children knowing that they have to feel happy and valued in order to learn.
We place high expectations on the progress of our children. Pupils are challenged and empowered to challenge themselves within a supportive, safe and secure learning environment. Children are expected to show respect, care and consideration for others. Together we will provide children with the tools for learning and improvement. Our vision celebrates all achievements, developing self-esteem and a desire to succeed.
School visits are warmly welcomed. Please contact the school office on 01606 288050 to arrange an appointment.
